Beer. The Driving Force of the Fantastic – Updated.
Fantasy has a lot of constantly reappearing themes; swords, magic, quests and ragtag bands of misfit heroes. But there’s another element that appears in all fantasy, is central to the beginning of any quest and is pretty much the lynch pin of every fantasy world. Beer. Without beer there wouldn’t be taverns, with no taverns there would be no place for adventurers to congregate, no adventurers congregating means no quests would be taken up and that means no sweeping fantasy tales.
Beer is the fulcrum upon which the entire fantasy genre balances. And so, in an homage to the amber liquid that gives us our beloved fantasy stories i give you; the Bulmouth’s Brewery Fantasy Batches.
